For over 25 years Buzz has been involved in numerous activities to advance the Human-Animal Bond so that both humans and their companion animals can enjoy healthier, happier and more productive lives together. Buzz and wife Judi created Buzzy’s Bow Wow Meow to be like no other pet store! The store not only sells the finest food and products for your best friend, they educate, provide a community meeting place and give back by helping other “friends” in need. The store’s profits are used to help fund shelters, adoption/foster groups, and to advance the Human-Animal Bond, and coming very soon is Buzzy’s Online Pet Store where a high percentage of proceeds will go directly to rescues and shelters.
Soft~Pull is truly a product designed out of need and love. In 2004 Laura Mucerino began rescuing Pit Bulls from her local shelter to keep them from being euthanized. Her husband, Frank, watched Laura walk the dogs several miles a day on a retractable leash. Many times the dogs were not leash trained and the dogs ended up walking Laura instead, jerking her arm and shoulder. She also had chronic back pain from the constant pull of the dogs. In 2006 Frank began working on designing a leash that was user friendly and dog friendly. The leash was designed with a “shock absorbing” type system to prevent the sudden jerk when the dog got to the end of the leash. Frank and Laura are actively involved in dog rescue and advocacy and are proud to sponsor Beyond the Myth. Thank them by trying out their products.
Pinups for Pitbulls, Inc. (PFPB) was founded in 2005 by Deirdre “Little Darling” Franklin. Deirdre was tired of finding that so-called rescues and shelters were euthanizing healthy, friendly, and adoptable animals due to their alleged “breed”, and so she utilized her background in modeling and education in fine arts to create a calendar like no other–eye-catching pinup girls and their pups, paying close attention to detail and era appropriate style along the way.
PFPB is a certified 501c3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate people about the history, temperament, and plight of the pit bull-type dog; raising awareness to rally against Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) and Breed Discriminatory Laws (BDL). PFPB’s goal is to restore the image of the pit bull-type dog to its former reputation of America’s companion animal, war hero, and family member.
Deirdre and Pinups was the first organization to step up as an Official Sponsor and is proud to promote and support Beyond the Myth. Support them by attending an event, buying a calendar or just donating.
